Some say that 4th Avenue should be closed to all traffic except for emergency vehicles or buses similar to State Street in Madison. Others say 4th Avenue is too important to city of Stevens Point traffic circulation (read hospital and Rice Medical clinic) AND even the campus to be closed. How the street is viewed and experienced can be enhanced with major landscaping and other changes. This could include a central boulevard running the length of the block between Isadore Street and Reserve Street similar to what was recently done with Wisconsin Avenue at Marquette University. What do you think?
