As a future teacher what do you see as your main weakness and how will you work on improving this?
I think my main weakness is organization. For the past year or so I have worked REALLY hard trying to find a way of organization that works best for me because I know it will be important as a professional. First of all if something isn't important to me or if something is too complicated to keep up, I'll put it off. For example, for the longest time I have put my clothes away in a dresser. I always hated doing this because I could never find the one t-shirt I was wanting to wear; Eventually out of frustration, the clothes just ended up spread across the floor or all over my bed.
This year my apartment is so small I don't have enough room for a dresser so I have to hang everything up. I LOVE this method because I can see everything at once and find the one t- shirt without making a huge mess. Slowly through out the past couple of semesters, I have figured out ways to organize things horizontally. This has helped me to be less messy and, so far, seems to be less frustrating to keep up.
In my classroom I plan on having book shelves or filing cabinets where I can see everything at once. If everything seems to be spread every which way or stacked I get frustrated because I can't find everything I need quickly or in one spot.
Also I plan on making it a "4pm priority" to quickly pick up the room and do any miscellaneous organization.
